Ruth Pearse
Ruth Pearse, a charity leader who helped "broken parents” get their son “the best future he could” has been nominated for The Chris Tarrant Award, sponsored by The Oracle.
Ruth, CEO and founder of Parenting Special Children (PSC), “is probably one of the most humble people that I have met, yet is one of the most deserving of this award,” said her nominator.
“Not only does she support over 2,500 families across the Thames Valley region every year, but the difference the charity makes is palpable supporting those at a time of crisis, when you have nowhere else to turn,” they added.
Their child was undergoing assessment for ADHD and autism. “I have to be honest it was hell; we had no idea what to do, where to go or how to support our son. As parents we were broken, we tried but had no idea what to do and how best to enable him to thrive.
“The workshops PSC and guidance they have shared is second to none (recommended by NHS Trusts and providers). It was through this that I, at last, was able to raise my head above the water, to advocate for my son, to enable him to get the best future he could,” said the parent.
“I honestly don't know where we would have been without the charity.
“Ruth is such an advocate, a strong CEO, inspirational, entrepreneurial, creative and in equal turn gets so much respect, support and engagement from those who work with her at the charity.”
