Grace Gomez

Founder of Christian group The Way Ministry, Grace Gomez has “extraordinary compassion, unwavering dedication, and a transformative impact on some of the most vulnerable members of our community.”

She has been nominated for the Chris Tarrant Award sponsored by The Oracle.

Her nominator said: “Since 2012, Grace has been at the heart of The Way Ministry’s mission to support those experiencing homelessness, hardship, or crisis in Reading.

“Through her leadership, the charity has become a beacon of hope – providing hot meals, essential supplies, emotional support, and most importantly, a safe and welcoming space for those in need. Her commitment ensures that nobody in our town feels invisible or left behind.”

“Grace doesn’t just offer temporary relief – she inspires change and fosters dignity. Her nominator added that, under her guidance, the charity works to break the cycle of poverty and exclusion, offering pathways to rebuild lives with compassion and purpose.

Grace’s work doesn’t end with the essentials. She organised a day trip to the seaside offering not just a day of joy and escape, but treasured memories that many would never otherwise experience.

“Grace leads by example, showing how love, action, and community spirit can change lives. Her tireless energy, humility, and kindness have touched countless people in Reading, and her legacy of care continues to grow.”
