An independent cafe in Butter Market in Reading, Picnic has a very special place in the memories of one couple.

Its nominator for Independent Retailer, sponsored by REDA and Reading BID, said: ”I am a regular at picnic and it's our ‘go to’ coffee shop in Reading.

“We love the setup, the staff are friendly and it's exactly what we look for in a small business. The owner is very kind and often asks how we are and is always accommodating.”

One day they had a special request for the salads, soup and sandwiches spot.

 “We quite recently asked if he could help with our wedding cakes and as much as it was a challenge he was very much up for the task!

 “The coffee shop has left a very special memory for us and will continue to,” they said.
