Enrych Berkshire

An outstanding charity dedicated to empowering adults with physical disabilities, Enrych Berkshire supports and encourages adults with a physical disability to be active and independent to have enriched, fulfilling lives.

Their volunteers support and enable people with a physical disability to take up, or return to, a hobby, interest, sporting activity or learning opportunity which they cannot do without some help or support.

This is mainly about giving confidence, understanding, and emotional support to bring colour to their members' lives, said their nominator for Charity of the Year sponsored by Reading Today.

Although there are leisure centres, special interest/sports clubs, and colleges in the Reading area, people with disabilities can still feel isolated, they added.

“They need the impetus and practical help to take up an interest or activity to give them the freedom of choice and control over their own lifestyles.

“Enrych Berkshire’s impact is truly life-changing. Whether it’s helping someone regain confidence after a life-altering diagnosis, facilitating new friendships, or providing access to enriching activities, their unwavering dedication to their community makes a profound difference.”
