South Street Youth Theatre Juniors

A drama club giving children a safe space to thrive has been nominated for the Chris Tarrant Award, sponsored by The Oracle.

“My son has been a member of South Street Youth Theatre Juniors since February 2025 and has thoroughly enjoyed every minute,” said the nominator.

Providing a safe and supportive environment where children are actively encouraged to express themselves and build confidence, since joining the impact has been significant.

“My son’s self-belief and confidence have grown hugely,” the nominator added. “He loves the opportunity to perform something that his friends and him have created themselves in front of his family and friends at the end of every term. It gives a huge sense of pride!”

The nominator attributes a key factor in the success of the group to its leader, Jo Hodder.

“She is a nurturing and inspirational individual who has the children’s best interest at heart!”
