RABBLE Theatre
A theatre company bringing powerful local stories to national audiences has been nominated for the Putting Reading on the Map Award, sponsored by Purple Turtle and Jacobs the Jewellers.
RABBLE Theatre’s community-focused productions and its ability to tell Reading stories in “the most engaging way,” prompted the nomination.
Its recent production, Glitch, explored the story of a Barkham sub-postmistress caught up in the Post Office scandal.
The production reflected the wider national scandal while grounding the story in local experiences, helping audiences connect personally with an issue that affected communities across the country.
Through nationwide tours, RABBLE Theatre has brought Reading stories to wider audiences, earning recognition and awards while helping shine a spotlight on the town’s creative talent and history.
Beyond its productions, the nominator praised RABBLE’s community outreach and commitment to making theatre accessible and meaningful to local people.
“The whole ethos of RABBLE, deeply rooted in our community, sums up Pride in Reading,” the nominator added.
