Reading Community Gospel Choir
A community choir that has been bringing people together through music and hope has been nominated for The Chris Tarrant Award, sponsored by The Oracle.
Reading Community Gospel Choir has been recognised for the “the outstanding contribution” it makes to Reading, creating a welcoming space where people from all walks of life can connect through music.
“As a group of individuals from all different walks of life, they come to choir to connect and create performances which uplift and inspire,” the nominator said.
“They sing together, talk together, cry together and inspire each other,” the nominator added. “Their performances encourage people to walk with faith and believe that life will work out and all will be OK.”
Through concerts and community performances, the choir aims to leave audiences feeling hopeful, joyful and connected.
“All that experience their performances feel more hope and joy and leave lighter than when they arrived.”
