Catherine Wignall
The founder of a counselling service pioneering a “whole-person” approach has been nominated for the Business in Action Award, sponsored by Boyes Turner.
Catherine Wignall, founder of Holistically Human, “set up Holistically Human so people could be supported in a fully holistic way,” said the nominator. “Not just taking care of their mind but recognising the impact on the body too.”
Working alongside a team of multi-disciplined therapists known as the ‘Holistic Humans’, Catherine aims to promote positive change, improve mental wellbeing and support physical health through modern therapeutic practice and medical research.
Her approach combines counselling with practices designed to calm the nervous system, including breathwork, meditation and movement, helping clients feel supported in every aspect of their wellbeing.
Alongside supporting individuals directly, Catherine has also created a training system for counsellors, designed to expand access to this whole-person approach and encourage more integrated care within the profession.
“She has put an incredible amount of work into creating this system and has self-funded the set-up,” the nominator added.
Holistically Human is now running pilot programmes in and around Reading, as well as across the UK, helping to introduce a more accessible and compassionate approach to wellbeing.
