Parents and Children Together (PACT)

A “truly special” Reading charity that has helped hundreds of children, families and women rebuild their lives has been nominated for Charity of the Year, sponsored by Cream Design.

Parents and Children Together (PACT) has been praised for the “life-changing support” it provides across the community, helping people heal from trauma, feel safe again and build stronger futures.

Over the past year alone, PACT placed 81 children with adoptive families and supported more than 200 children and families as they grew together. Through Alana House, PACT’s flagship community project, 218 women received practical and compassionate support to rebuild their lives, while more than 430 children affected by domestic abuse were helped through the Bounce Back 4 Kids programme.

“What makes PACT truly special is how the charity supports people for the long term,” said the nominator. “Its services are free, expert-led and rooted in understanding trauma, meaning people don’t just get through difficult moments, they’re helped to move forward with confidence and hope.”

“The work done by the amazing team is truly transformative and helps people believe in a better future,” the nominator added. “Naming PACT Charity of the Year would celebrate everyone’s dedication and send a powerful message that the lives of those it helps truly matter.”
