Nibsy’s

A small ‘free-from’ business having a big impact on the town has been nominated for the Putting Reading on the Map Award, sponsored by Purple Turtle and Jacobs the Jewellers.

Nibsy’s

“Perfectly situated” on Station Hill, Nibsy’s Gluten Free trailer, nicknamed Beryl, has been recognised for providing “much-needed, safe and welcoming option for those who require gluten free food – something that is often overlooked, particularly for commuters and people on the go,” their nominator said.

Its reputation has grown beyond Reading, attracting visitors from outside the town and helping showcase Reading as an inclusive destination that embraces innovation and independent enterprise.

“What makes Nibsy’s truly special is that it doesn’t just deliver ‘free-from’ convenience, but high-quality, delicious food that rivals any mainstream offering,” they said.

A strong community has developed around the business through its friendly service and active social media presence, helping to raise awareness of gluten-free living while promoting Reading to a wider audience.

By filling a gap in the market and setting high standards for independent street food, Nibsy’s has established itself as a destination.

“Nibsy’s is not only filling a gap, but raising the standard of what independent food can offer,” said the nominator. “It is putting Reading firmly on the map for accessible, high-quality street food.”
