A family-run coffee house described as “a true gem in Reading town centre” has been nominated for Independent Retailer of the Year, sponsored by REDA and Reading BID.

Lincoln Coffee House is praised by its nominator for embodying “everything a great independent business should be.”

“I recommend them so often to visitors coming to our offices that my colleagues have a running joke that I must be on commission,” said the nominator. “The truth is that I know they will always receive a friendly smile, excellent service and a place where they can relax and feel at home.”

They also praised the cafe for its commitment to the local community, including supporting Mental Health Awareness Week and encouraging open conversations around wellbeing.

As a family-owned independent business, “it offers so much more than great food and coffee; it provides a warm, welcoming space where everyone feels valued.”
