Reading-born entertainer Justin Fletcher MBE has been nominated for Putting Reading on the Map, in recognition of the joy, learning and inclusivity he has brought to millions of families across the UK.
Known to many as Mr Tumble, Justin become one of Britain’s most loved children’s entertainers. His work has helped children of all abilities communicate, build confidence and thrive, making a lasting difference to families nationwide.
“Justin is a true ambassador for Reading,” said the nominator. “Through his kindness, talent and commitment to making a difference, he has put Reading on the map nationally.”
The nominator highlighted Justin’s long-standing connection with The Hexagon theatre, where he has appeared in their annual pantomime for 16 years. First performing there in 2010 as the Jester in Sleeping Beauty, he is set to return this year to star in Aladdin.
His continued association with one of Reading’s best-loved venues has helped strengthen the town’s reputation as a centre for family entertainment and live performance.
“Justin’s success continually shines a positive spotlight on his hometown,” the nominator added. “Whether through television, theatre or his work supporting children of all abilities, he represents the very best of Reading.”
