AWE

More than 70 years of support for its local community has earned a Berkshire business a nomination for the Business in Action Award, sponsored by Boyes Turner.

“AWE is a business that places community impact at the heart of its culture,” said the nominator.

They highlighted the organisation’s three-year partnership with Parents and Children Together (PACT), the Reading-based charity that supports vulnerable children, families and women. Since the partnership began in 2024, AWE employees have raised around £30,000, with fundraising expected to reach £50,000 by September 2026.

Dedicated volunteering days are available to all staff, with 30 volunteers having contributed 180 hours of support so far, helping with projects such as preparing Christmas gifts for families supported by PACT and reorganising the charity’s storage facilities to improve efficiency and service delivery.

Beyond fundraising and volunteering, AWE maintains strong links with local schools through STEM outreach programmes and employee volunteering as STEM Ambassadors, helping inspire future generations across Berkshire.

“Through its support of PACT and many other local initiatives, AWE is helping create better outcomes for children and families across Berkshire while building a lasting legacy of positive impact.”
