Hayley Brazil

The creator of a “village” for isolated parents and families during pregnancy and early parenthood has been nominated for the Inspiration Award, sponsored by McDonald‘s.

Hayley Brazil “saw parents feeling isolated, mothers struggling behind closed doors and families desperate for connection,” said her nominator. “Instead of waiting for someone else to create that support, she became the person who did.”

She founded Our Story & Co, a welcoming community where parents can find friendship, support and understanding during some of the most challenging periods of their lives.

“With nothing but determination, compassion and an incredible vision,” Hayley established a network of free baby groups, family activities and safe spaces for parents who may be feeling anxious, lonely or overwhelmed.

“She has given countless people something they didn’t even realise they were missing – a village,” the nominator added.

The nominator also highlighted Hayley’s role in their creation of the postnatal Support & Move group, a space where new mums can exercise safely, while also accessing support, friendship and honest conversations about the realities of parenthood.

“Babies are welcomed, friendships are formed, confidence is rebuilt, and women leave feeling stronger in every sense of the word.”

Hayley was praised for her warmth, empathy and ability to make every person feel seen, heard and valued, regardless of their circumstances.

“The impact she has had cannot be measured by numbers alone. It’s in the mother who no longer feels isolated. The anxious parent who has found lifelong friends. The family who finally feels supported. The person who walked through the door feeling alone and left knowing they belonged.”
