A “true gem in the heart of Reading” has been nominated for the Independent Retailer of the Year Award, sponsored by REDA and Reading BID.

Fanny’s Antiques has been “has been delighting locals for many years” from its “wonderfully quirky home” on Lynmouth Road.

“Stepping inside feels like uncovering a treasure trove, with rooms packed full of fascinating finds that span generations,” the nominator said.

Housed in a former meat store, the shop has become known for its distinctive character, offering everything from traditional antiques to quirky vintage pieces.

“What really sets Fanny’s apart is the passion behind it,” the nominator added. “The team are consistently warm, welcoming and genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just browsing, they make everyone feel at home.”

The nominator has also praised the shop’s wide range of affordable items, making antiques accessible to experienced collectors and first-time buyers alike.
