Damien Passmore, founder of What’s On Reading, has been recognised for curating a platform that has become an essential part of life in the town, helping residents and visitors discover the best of Reading’s events, activities and opportunities.
“Through his vision, dedication and tireless work, Damien has built a platform that is completely unique in the UK,” said the nominator. “It has become the go-to place for discovering what’s happening across Reading and now attracts millions of visits each year.”
What’s On Reading has become a vital resource for local organisations, community groups and event organisers, helping them reach wider audiences and connect with residents.
“What truly sets Damien apart is his passion for supporting others,” the nominator added. “He doesn’t just list events – he actively champions them, advocates for the people behind them and builds meaningful relationships across the town.”
Working with hundreds of organisations every year, Damien has helped strengthen Reading’s cultural and community life, creating connections that bring people together and shine a spotlight on local initiatives.
