Stuart Hutton

A musician who has brought local artists together in a community, Stuart Hutton has been nominated for the Cultural Contribution award sponsored by M&G Real Estate.

His nominator said: “We have hired Stu to play at my birthday party and after meeting him for the first time at the beginning of the year, it was clear how much work he is doing in the community to better the music industry for local artists.”

Stuart has created a website berkshireartistree.co.uk listing local live music events for the public to view and “also created a wonderful community for local musicians and artists.

“He also drives audiences to venues they may not have known about before, helping businesses grow. What Stu does is all self-funded. He is an incredible acoustic guitarist and singer – indie folk musician and goes by the name One Eyed Man.” they said.

In 2012, a rare infection blinded Stuart in the left eye. “Thanks to some truly outstanding healthcare, they managed to avoid removing it. This is where the artist name One Eyed Man came from.

“I recently also found out that Stuart is also raising money for a non-profit called One Tree Planted. He is using money from TikTok performances and general donations from his audience,” said his nominator.

“Stuart isn’t just a musician, he is spreading knowledge, supporting fellow artists and the community whilst fundraising when he can.”
