Kevin Farrell
Kevin Farrell of the restaurant Vegivores “works so hard (harder than anyone I know) to bring amazing delicious vegan food to Caversham and the surrounding area,“ said the nominator who put him forward for the Hospitality Award.
“Kevin has an incredible work ethic. He keeps his restaurant going through continued sacrifices and hard work, especially this year when financially it has been the hardest for hospitality yet.
“Everything he does at the restaurant is for the customers and the staff. He really believes that customers should receive above average experiences; whether they spend £3.50 on just a coffee or £100s on food and drinks, everyone deserves the same service.
“A workplace should be like family, not just people working. Free food for staff always since we've opened because they should try everything and love what they make/serve every day,” said the nomination.
“Motivating his staff even when he's not feeling motivated himself. I could go on for pages and pages.”
Another nominator said: “Kevin’s unrelenting hard work and determination to spread the joys of Vegivores to everyone, to be involved with and help local charities and to work alongside other small independents, is inspirational.”
The award, inspired by and in memory of journalist Hilary Scott, is sponsored by Cream Design.
