Joan StClair

A “caring woman” with a welcoming spirit, Joan StClair, who coaches women through the menopause, has been nominated for Neighbourhood Champion sponsored by Reading Football Club.

A nominator said: “I was a woman who had found menopause very difficult to cope with.

“After listening to one of Joan’s talks at a community event, I knew I had to talk with her.”

Invited to her menopause cafe at Reading’s central library, she found Joan’s “warmth and welcoming spirit created a feeling of relaxation and comfort which has helped me to manage my anxiety over time.

“Joan is a warm-hearted person. She’s approachable and understanding,” she added.

“I’ve seen Joan in action where she sympathises and shows empathy towards others and myself. Joan has helped me overcome my challenges. She has a great spirit of discernment and a kind, joyful heart.”

Joan has also been nominated for Volunteer/s of the Year, sponsored by AB Walker, and Cultural Contribution, sponsored by M&G Real Estate.
