Wembley Stand Honour for Pride of Reading Winner

Pippa Sharman, the Pride of Reading Local Hero 2023, was one of four fans honoured by Sky Bet EFL Play-Offs, when it marked its 40th anniversary.

Pippa, a Reading FC fan, had a Wembley Stadium stand named after her for the play-offs between 23–25 May, a powerful tribute which was seen by around 200,000 fans at the stadium and millions more watching at home.

In 2022, Pippa helped save the life of Luton supporter David Norman while attending Reading’s away fixture against Luton Town, she was nominated and won the Local Hero Award 2023, sponsored by Green Park.  

Since receiving the award Pippa has been involved with the Every Minute Matters Campaign with the British Heart Foundation and SkyBet.

Pippa has also supported Reading FC by helping the club with their CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training.
