The award will be given to an inspirational young person, under 25, who has shown outstanding community spirit, drive and ambition.

Abbie Shakespeare

Three people in formal attire, two men and a young woman, standing together on stage. The young woman in the center is holding a bouquet of pink roses and a glass award. The man on the right has a poppy pin on his lapel. They are smiling and posing for a photo.

Abbie started a campaign aged 10 to raise awareness of the issues surrounding autism as part of her Girl Guiding campaigning badge.

Diagnosed with autism aged six, she was frustrated that other children did not understand her condition and recorded a video covering a number of  conditions, her struggles and showing how people can help other youngsters.

The video was uploaded on to YouTube and shared with local schools and girl guides across the UK.
