Toni Ilsley

Toni “the embodiment of true inspiration” set up a dogs’ day centre in memory of her dog-loving son, who tragically died of a brain tumour aged 13.

Charlie, eight, underwent chemotherapy but, in 2018, the cancer returned. In two years Toni raised over £150,000 so he could receive pioneering treatments overseas. Sadly, Charlie died in 2020.

Toni ploughed her energy into Charlie’s Dog Place, a tribute to Charlie who loved dogs, where she welcomes Henley College students with special learning and educational needs as volunteers. She also established Team Charlie, a charity to support local children with brain tumours.
