Trinity Concert Band
An award-winning community wind band, Trinity Concert Band is dedicated to bringing the joy and excitement of live music to audiences, says its nominator for the Cultural Community award sponsored by M&G Real Estate.
“Our dynamic concert programmes showcase a rich array of musical styles, offering something for everyone to enjoy – from timeless classics to modern favourites,” they said.
Founded in 2001, the non-professional community wind band based in Earley is named after its home and rehearsal venue, Trinity Church.
“Beyond performing, we’re proud to support local charities, using our concerts as a platform to give back to the community.
“Through our More Than Music campaign, we partner with a different charity each year to raise funds and awareness for causes that matter, using our concerts as a platform to give back to the community. Our current campaign supports Prostate Cancer UK, with previous campaigns supporting local charities Stepping Stones DS, and Thrive.”
The band enters the National Concert Band Festival every other year and has won several Gold Awards and three Platinum Awards.
“Our latest Platinum Award came in April when the band played in Manchester in the finals of this year’s competition, a true honour and testament to the talent and dedication of our musicians,” said the nominator.
“We perform up to five formal concerts a year throughout Reading and Wokingham along with free performances on bandstands in the summer and Christmas carols throughout December.”
