Jeffrey Tsz Lok Ng
Jeffrey Tsz Lok Ng has been nominated for Employee of the Year, sponsored by Reading Buses.
A young town planner, originally from Hong Kong, works for the NHS, integrating health considerations into the planning process, said his nominator for the award. Jeffrey is employed by the NHS Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board as a primary care lead.
As the only town planner at the ICB, he is responsible for making representations in local plans and planning applications.
“This is challenging but Jeffrey believes that his local council experiences and his passion can make a difference in the planning system about primary healthcare," said his nominator.
They added: “Jeffrey has managed to secure a primary care mitigation in the recent Broad Street Mall planning application, which can ensure primary care services can be provided to residents in Central Reading.
“Jeffrey also made a formal representation to the recent Reading Local Plan consultations to ensure primary care mitigations are secured in any forthcoming major housing development in Reading.”
Jeffrey was the commended RTPI South East Young Planner of the Year 2024 and the winner of the Rising Star award of the BAME Network for his achievement and contribution to planning and healthcare, in particular with his role at the ICB. He is the first planner to have won these titles at the NHS.
