Cosy Club
The Cosy Club, a new restaurant bar in Reading which is “the IT place to be seen”, has been nominated for the Great Place to Work award, sponsored by Kingdom Rooms.
Its nominator said it “is an all inclusive company who really cares about their team and their involvement in their community.
“Loungers, the parent company, creates a one-day event for all the teams to come together and have a festival of fun... loungefest. They close down all their restaurants to allow teams to attend – people over profit.
“They are very supportive of LGBTQ+ community, sustainability, the local environment and provide free meals, discounts and family and friends perks to make their teams feel valued.”
They added the company focuses on their community and recruits local experts to run their restaurants. “They promote from within where possible to really support development.”
The bar has also been nominated for the Putting Reading on the Map award, sponsored by The Purple Turtle and Jacobs the Jewellers.
The nominator said: “Cosy Club has… really elevated the offering in Reading. The restaurant bar is the IT place to be seen. The food is really great quality for the price point. The drink selection is cool and sophisticated with a trendy vibe.
“There is a wonderful atmosphere and a great bunch of people led by Amber who has spent years in the industry, supported by a team of local faces from hospitality including Archie who has been in Reading hospitality for the last decade or so.”
They added: “The bar has been the go to place since it opened, it's beautifully themed and really raises the bar for the town. People are coming from around Berkshire to try it and it's a beloved brand which helps visitors feel reassured for a perfect meal or night out.”
