Eldon Village People
The Covid pandemic brought neighbours together in lockdown and they said “in what was a dark time for so many people we found something positive and joyful to focus on”.
Eldon Village People who live in the Eldon Square area hosted weekly (socially distanced) street drinks and since then they have held an annual ‘rib-off’ cooking competition, various street parties including the Queen’s Jubilee, welcomed two babies, run a pub quiz, are involved in Reading Rep theatre, enjoy pizza nights, running a WhatsApp chat group and Neighbourhood Watch and making “lifelong friends” in a warm, kind community.
