To recognise a young person’s courage. Some become heroic lifesavers; others demonstrate courage through battling illness or other difficult circumstances. These are amazing under 16-year-olds.

A young lad who has battled painful surgery “with courage, strength and a cheeky smile”, Reece McIntyre, aged 16, was born with severe cerebral palsy.

He has endured multiple surgeries, most resulting in complications such as infections and recently he has suffered in pain as surgery was delayed finally enduring a nine-hour operation. This “fighter” was praised for his courage and strength managing to “smile and fight through”.
