Kazoku Karate

A martial arts club committed to making the practice accessible to all has been nominated for the Business in Action award, sponsored by Boyes Turner.

Family-run Kazoku Karate has been recognised for creating a “truly inclusive” community where “everyone, regardless of age or ability, feels they belong.”

“From the moment you walk through the doors, you are made to feel welcome by the friendly, supportive and encouraging instructors,” said the nominator.

The club offers a wide range of karate and combat sessions for both children and adults, including opportunities for families to train together, helping make martial arts accessible to the wider community.

The nominator highlighted the significant impact the club has had on their young son.

“Since joining, he has grown in confidence, developed new skills and found a place where he feels accepted and celebrated,” they said. “Watching him thrive has been amazing, and that is a testament to the patience, dedication and kindness of the instructors.”

Beyond teaching martial arts techniques, Kazoku Karate helps develop skills such as self-confidence, self-control and co-ordination.

“Kazoku Karate is so much more than a martial arts club,” the nominator added. “It is a welcoming community that supports, inspires and empowers every member.”
