Katesgrove Community Association

An “outstanding grassroots organisation” has been nominated for Community of the Year, sponsored by Hilton Reading, in recognition of its dedication to improving the local area and bringing residents together.

Katesgrove Community Association Described has played a vital role in creating a stronger sense of pride and belonging within the Katesgrove community.

The group’s regular litter-picking initiatives demonstrate a hands-on commitment to making the area cleaner, safer and more welcoming for residents.

“These efforts not only improve the area physically but also inspire others to take greater care of their surroundings,” said the nominator.

In addition, KCA’s community allotment provides a valuable shared space where people can connect, learn, and grow together: “It promotes wellbeing, sustainability, and inclusivity, offering residents the opportunity to engage with nature and each other in a meaningful way.”

Through its activities, KCA has built a supportive and active community network that encourages involvement from people of all ages and backgrounds.
